Phil Mison on the tiles

In the balmy world of Balearic music, Phil Mison’s dreamy record collection is rightfully revered. He began his DJ career in 1991 at London hot spot Milk Bar, and it was here that his warm-up sets caught the attention of chill out hero Jose Padilla. This encounter led to a two-year residency at - arguably the birthplace of the sunset - Cafe Del Mar in Ibiza. From there he established himself as a master of the sound, subsequently releasing countless compilations and launching a hugely impressive production career. He's released on labels including Claremont 56, Leng, Eskimo and Music For Dreams under his own name as well as his Cantoma moniker. He’s collaborated with disco don Pete Herbert as Reverso 68 and has remixed a host of heavyweight artists, such as Grace Jones and Badly Drawn Boy.

On Friday 7th June, he’ll be playing his exquisite selection up on the roof at Potato Head Singapore. Joining him as the sun sets on the terracotta tiles will be resident and all-round cool dude Matty Wainwright, alongside Burnt Ends’ Krishnan P.

One for the diary.
