Italo re-issue specialists Best Record don't stop!

Best Record was set up in 2015 by pioneering Italian DJ, producer and journalist, Claudio Casalini. His mission was to unearth and present to the world forgotten or hard to find diamonds from the broader world of Italo disco. With an incredibly diverse sounding back catalogue already released since it’s inception (including Tullio De Piscopo’s all time classic ‘Stop Bajon’, Horizon’s jazz-funk masterpiece ‘You’, and Topo’s sleazy, stripped electro-disco ‘Ba Ba Go Go’), it appears as though Claudio and his team have hit upon a bulging vein of seminal music, with much of their output dispelling any notion of the genre as being even remotely predictable.

This time out, they present Valery Allington’s Maurizio Sangineto produced boogie cut, ‘Stop’. The 12” comes with with the high tempo, floor-filling, proto-house Special Electronic version as well as an instrumental, but our favourite is probably the gently grooving if slightly saccharine original mix. If for any reason Best haven’t made it into your record collection yet, their extensive release portfolio is well worth examining.
