BK's Slum Disco Soundsystem fly in Potato Head residents
The disco purveyors open their doors to two of Singapore's finest selectors, on Friday 6th December at Studio Lam.
The Slum Disco crew have been making noise in the Bangkok underground in recent years, steadfastly pushing their intimate, disco-infused dancing parties, and generating some serious heat along the way.
Pitched somewhere between a Mancuso Loft party and Dekmental rave - but with a gentle sprinkling of Studio 54 - muscular residents Chote and Tek have been consistently tearing the roof off their Studio Lam home since they first fell in love and conceived of the Slum DIsco brand.
For this instalment, they celebrate the forthcoming Potato Head takeover at Wonderfruit by inviting Matty Wainwright and Krishan P to join them on the turntables. Matty has long been attached to the Potato Head family and is music Director at their awesome Singapore branch. Aside from this, he’s owner-operator at DJ Dispensary - the OG in guest experience ‘DJ retreats’ since 2012. As well as being a seasoned jock and player of the highest quality Balearic disco, he’s also a cracking lad and a big bunch of fun to be around, so we’re looking forward to catching him in our neck of the woods.
Kirshan P is one of Potato Head SG’s prized residents, and is also one of the driving forces behind London's Giant Steps and Brilliant Corners venues. With it’s pristine Klipshorn speakers, custom-built (and unbelievably beautiful) Isonoe mixer, Brilliant Corners is one of our absolute favourite spots to play our most cherished records. Indeed, the place is something of a Mecca for the most diligent of collectors, so we’re very sure Krishan will be coming equipped with a bag full of gems.
