Night Moves with Henrik Schwarz at Potato Head Bali
The German super-producer takes the stage for a live show on Saturday14th December at our favourite beach-side spot.
Henrik Schwarz must be one of the hardest working producers out there. His output is nothing short of prolific, having worked with labels including Innervisions, Compost, Running Back, Ninja Tune and far too many others to list here, along the way remixing Carl Craig, The Sunburst Band, Ebo Taylor, DJ Hell and many, many others.
It’s fair to say he’s a contemporary legend in the realm of underground electronic music.
But, that’s not where the story ends. Musically he traverses a broad and deep forest, from techno to classical and jazz. He’s produced work with mainstream artists including Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Mary J. Blige and The Foals, and has also composed orchestral pieces for the Berlin State Ballet, the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Tonhalle Zürich and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra.
We love his music. His productions have a diverse yet unusually distinctive sound all of their own, and as a performer he incorporates live elements to his shows - whether they’re dynamic techno sets or nuanced concerts to seated audiences.
As has become traditional, we wanted to play you one of our favourites of his catalogue. This time it was an easy choice, a track that we have always adored - his remix of (another of our favourites and perhaps slightly underrated) Omar’s ‘I’m Feeling You’. A classic song and expert vocal performance given a raw energy by Henrik’s deft production - marrying pure human soul with futuristic precision.
If you follow the site, you already know we love the immaculate setting of Potato Head Bali where the event takes place. Also on deck-duty are Andy Chunes and Tantrà DJs, along with Balearic disco don and all-round good egg Pete Herbert. It’s free entry, so - if you’re anywhere in the region of Bali - there’s absolutely no excuse not to go. Full event info here
