Along with In Flagranti’s Sasa Crnobrnja, Jacek ‘Mytron’ Janiszewski records as Mytron & Ofofo. The talented duo have released on top-level labels, including Multi Culti, Bordello A Parigi, and Razor N Tape. His sound isn’t easy to pin down but floats somewhere between disco-funk, world music and experimental electro.

As we understand it, Mytron took it upon himself to rework two tracks from Calypso Records’ ‘Take Away’ series. After hearing the results, label bosses Thomass Jackson and Inigo Vontier were so impressed, they decided to release the music themselves. It’s not difficult to hear why.

First up, Brazil’s Celestino is given the Mytron touch. Pounding drums charge over relentless bass before the sinister top-line bursts in. Loose percussion drives the groove, and haunting delayed vocals add to the mystery.

Next, Jacek tweaks Peruvian Aristidez’s ‘Take Away’ instalment. The groove builds over heavy percussion, sparse bass, and a hypnotic marimba rhythm — eventually giving way to a sparkling cosmic lead synth.

Top work once more from Mytron, both of his versions are excellent. You can buy them right here.
